there is nothing in this life that makes me happier than seeing people I love work toward and achieve a dream.
It’s not really about them arriving at the dream that brings me joy, though. It’s being able to witness the personal growth and fun they have along the way.
dream big and out loud. appreciate the process. embrace the challenges. cherish the connections.
Running is meant to be fun. Hard, yes. But also Fun. Let’s have some fun together.
Following graduation and my time in the NCAA, I began coaching in January 2020. Each summer during college, I worked as a counselor at a cross country camp in Wilmington, Delaware. The camp director, Patrick Castagno, called me when I was nearing the end of my graduate program asking if I would like to join his coaching staff at Tatnall. Coincidentally, the very next day I was offered a full-time job as the director of marketing at a PT clinic down the road from the school. It seemed like the stars were aligning so I packed up my life and moved to Delaware, a decision that would lead me to fall in love with coaching.
In my four years with Tatnall’s cross country / track teams, the program earned 11 state championship titles, multiple individuals earned all-state and all-American honors, and over a dozen kids currently compete in the NCAA. In my first two years there, the girls’ XC team did not have enough runners to score. by my fourth year, the girls’ team was 11 people strong. They achieved an undefeated regular season before placing 9th in the country at the 2023 Nike Cross nationals.
At the end of 2023, I moved back to my home state of New York to pursue two new and exciting opportunities: manager of track and events at the historic Armory Indoor Track and Field Center, and head coach of a brand new club serving adults in the NYC community: Manhattan Track Club. I am also still competing, primarily on the track. this past season I fell short of qualifying for the USA Olympic trials in the 3k steeplechase in my first year running the event. But I am happier and healthier than ever before and I look forward to the seasons ahead.
Along with chasing my running dreams, coaching brings me the greatest joy. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned runner, live in New York or across the country, I would love to be a part of your running journey. Something tells me we’re going to have some fun. Let’s get to work.
